Trading Rules Guide
Trading rules are your always-on guardrails. Jow applies them in every conversation to keep advice consistent with your style and limits.
What to include
- Trading style and timeframe
- Universe (markets, sectors, symbols)
- Risk limits (position size, daily loss, max exposure)
- Portfolio allocation policy (asset-class targets, sleeve weights, rebalance triggers)
- Hard no-go constraints
Keep it clean
- Use simple, direct language
- Prefer numeric limits over vague wording
- Separate non-negotiable constraints into their own section
Use ready templates on Trading Rules Examples. For allocation trees, start with Tier 2 examples and then adapt the Tier 3 institutional rulebook for your account.
